NATIONAL INFO - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Village Governance Development (Pemdes), has launched an online training program for 80,000 village officials across Indonesia. The training utilizes the Pamong Desa Learning Management System (LMS) application, aiming to enhance village governance capacity through a technology-based approach.
The Director of Village Governance Capacity Development, Data, and Village Development Evaluation at Ditjen Bina Pemdes Kemendagri, Mohammad Noval, explained that the training focuses on two main topics, village development planning and village financial management. “Participants are selected from every village, with each village sending two representatives,” said Noval.
The development planning materials are designated for village planning officials (KAUR Perencanaan) and Community Empowerment Institutions (LPM), while financial management materials involve financial officers (KAUR Keuangan) and planning officials. These two topics are designed to address critical issues in village governance, particularly in managing village funds and planning development based on community needs.
The training aims to reinforce the accountability and effectiveness of village governance. The financial management materials are designed to help village officials prepare and manage village budgets (APBDes) with transparency, minimizing potential misuse of village funds. Meanwhile, the development planning materials emphasize the importance of identifying community needs and leveraging local potential for sustainable development.
“This training is conducted in the morning, afternoon, or evening to ensure server stability and efficient data usage,” Noval explained during a press release from Ditjen Bina Pemdes on Friday, November 29, 2024. This method allows participants to engage in training without disrupting their daily responsibilities in the village.
The high level of interest among village officials is evident from the number of registrants reaching 164,790, far exceeding the quota of 80,000 participants. Those not selected can still access learning materials independently through asynchronous methods provided by the Pamong Desa LMS.
This training is part of the Village Governance and Development Strengthening Program (P3PD), involving five ministries: Kemendagri, the Ministry of Villages (Kemendes), the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). The program aims to create quality village expenditures based on the needs and potential of the community.
Through this training, Kemendagri hopes that village officials can perform their duties more effectively and professionally, enabling the creation of transparent and accountable governance.(*)
