Stellantis (STLA) chief executive officer Carlos Tavares decided to step down more than a year before his current contract was set to expire, with the automaker planning to create an interim committee led by board chairman John Elkann to guide operations until a permanent replacement is selected during the first half of 2025.
Stellantis shares were dropping 6.6% this afternoon, with over 18.7 million shares traded so far on Monday compared with its daily average of just under 9 million shares per day.
