智通财经APP获悉，力拓(RIO.US)将以 3.99 亿美元的价格将其位于澳大利亚 Winu 铜金项目 30% 的股份出售给日本住友金属矿业公司。
力拓周三在一份声明中表示，住友将支付 1.95 亿美元的预付款和 2.04 亿美元的延期付款，具体取决于开发进度。力拓补充道，两家公司将在铜、其他基本金属和锂领域探索更多的合作伙伴关系。
“这是降低投资风险的一个独特机会，”力拓铜业首席执行官 Katie Jackson 表示。“我们期待以战略合作伙伴的身份开展更广泛的合作，寻找新的方式在整个金属和矿物供应链中实现价值。”
声明称，力拓于 2017 年发现了位于西澳大利亚偏远大沙沙漠地区的 Winu 铜金矿，目前尚未开发。矿山建设的预可行性研究将于 2025 年发布。
与同行必和必拓一样，力拓也渴望扩大其在铜矿方面的业务，铜是电气化的关键金属。不过，与智利的埃斯孔迪达矿相比，Winu矿床被认为是一个较小的项目。
