Saia (SAIA) early Tuesday said its daily shipping volume was running 3.5% ahead of year-ago levels during the first two months of its current Q4, with workday tonnage and the average weight per shipment for the less-than-truckload logistics company also topping the comparable period in 2023 during October and November by 6.4% and 2.8%, respectively.
The company also recorded gains across all of its monthly metrics, including a 2.4% year-over-year rise in its weight per shipment to 1,352 pounds during October and growing by 3.3% to 1,357 pounds during November.
On a numerical basis, Saia shipments per workday increased by 4.4% in October and 2.3% in November compared with the same month last year while its overall tonnage was up 6.9% and 5.7% year-over-year in October and November, respectively.
