Health care stocks were advancing in Tuesday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Health Care Index adding 0.4% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) up 0.1%.
The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 0.7%.
In corporate news, Janux Therapeutics (JANX) shares soared 56%. The company reported late Monday positive interim clinical data for its JANX007 clinical program in prostate cancer patients.
Rezolute (RZLT) shares jumped 5.8% after the company said Tuesday the US Food and Drug Administration granted orphan drug designation to ersodetug to treat hypoglycemia caused by tumor hyperinsulinism.
TransMedics' (TMDX) shares tumbled past 15% in recent trading, a day after the company said it named Gerardo Hernandez as chief financial officer.
