Woori Financial Group (KRX:316140) subsidiary Woori Bank nominated Vice President Jeong Jin-wan, head of the SME Group, as its next president, Pulse News reported Friday.
The announcement followed a meeting of Woori Financial Group's CEO candidate committee. Jeong, who joined Woori Bank in 1995, has held key roles, including leading SME customer and sales divisions, the report said.
Jeong will assume the role after incumbent president Cho Byung-kyu's term ends in late 2024.
Shares of Woori Financial Group rose nearly 2% in recent trade on Monday.
