智通财经APP获悉，受税收上调以及薪酬和技术相关支出增加的影响，加拿大丰业银行(BNS.US)周二公布的第四财季季度利润低于分析师预期。财报显示，丰业银行第四财季调整后净利润为21.2亿加元，同比增长29%;调整后的每股收益为1.57加元，略低于分析师预期的1.60加元。
杰富瑞分析师John Aiken表示：“随着市场分析这些数据，大部分令人失望的数据都集中在高于预期的税率上，这一事实应该会让市场得到一些安慰。”
在第四财季，丰业银行加拿大银行业务的净利润同比增长了34%，国际银行业务的净利润同比增长了14%。不过，全球银行和市场业务的净利润同比下降了3%，非利息支出则同比增长了6%。
自首席执行官Scott Thomson于2023年初执掌丰业银行以来，该行将资金投向了稳定、风险较低的国家，押注于北美贸易走廊，同时抑制了在拉美市场的支出。该行侧重于从加拿大魁北克到美国和墨西哥等更近的地区的增长，以及从哥伦比亚等一些外国市场退出的可能性。
值得注意的是，丰业银行出人意料地表示，将收购KeyCorp(KEY.US)14.9%的股份，以拓展其在美国的业务。丰业银行的竞争对手，包括蒙特利尔银行、加拿大皇家银行、道明银行等一直在美国投资。
