Tencent (HKG:0700) said it has not dissolved its Honor of Kings: Breaking Dawn video game project, but will go through adjustments, Yicai Global reported, citing a source.
The clarification comes after online rumors surfaced saying the internet and gaming giant switched off the project, Yicai said.
Tencent said it will suspend beta testing for the game on Friday and switch off payment functions to readjust the product following testing and feedback, the filing said.
The game expects to garner further investments once Tencent chooses a development direction for the project, the report said, citing the insider.
Tencent launched Breaking Dawn during the fifth anniversary of Honor of Kings, the report said.
Shares rose marginally during Thursday's late-morning trading.
