UnitedHealth Group (UNH) and CVS Health (CVS) have removed executive photos from their websites after UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was killed in a targeted attack in Manhattan on Wednesday, Reuters reported Friday.
Reuters, citing security analysts such as Glen Kucera of Allied Universal, reported that health insurers are expected to ramp up physical security for executives due to the rising hostility toward healthcare providers since the COVID-19 pandemic.
UnitedHealth Group and CVS Health did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
