Apollo Global Management (APO) said Thursday that Hector Fernandez has been named chief executive of the company formed from the combination of International Game Technology's (IGT) Gaming & Digital business and Everi Holdings (EVRI).
Fernandez, who most recently served as CEO of Aristocrat Gaming, will assume the CEO role at the merged entity by Q4 2025. Current IGT global gaming head Nick Khin will serve as interim CEO until Fernandez joins the company, Apollo said.
Apollo said the combined enterprise will have three business units -- gaming, digital, and fintech - with Khin having been tapped to become CEO for gaming. Current IGT PlayDigital head Gil Rotem will become CEO for digital, while current Everi fintech business head Darren Simmons will be CEO for fintech.
