智通财经APP获悉，挪威国家石油公司(EQNR.US)和壳牌公司(SHEL.US)将合并其在英国的海上油气资产，成立一家新公司，据称将成为英国北海最大的独立生产商。两家公司周四在一份声明中表示，成立合资企业的目的是“维持英国国内油气生产和能源供应安全”。新的生产商将由都在北海拥有数十年运营经验的Equinor和壳牌共同拥有。
该交易有待监管部门的批准，预计将于2025年底完成。
这笔交易反映出英国海上油气行业地位的下降。英国海上油气行业始于上世纪60年代，在大约20年前达到顶峰。随着现有油田产量的减少和新发现油田的平均规模缩小，全球石油巨头一直在将注意力转向其他地方的更具吸引力的投资机会。
近年来北海的趋势是，新进入者往往得到私募股权的支持，从大型生产商手中收购老化资产，并将其合并为Harbour Energy等所谓的独立生产商。
根据声明，壳牌和Equinor的新公司将更加专注并具有成本竞争力，使其能够更好地最大化其剩余北海资源价值。两家公司目前在英国上游油气领域雇佣了约1300名员工，每年产量接近14万桶。
Equinor勘探与生产国际执行副总裁Philippe Mathieu在声明中表示：“通过结合Equinor和壳牌的长期专业知识和有竞争力的资产，这个新实体将在确保英国能源供应方面发挥关键作用。”
