智通财经APP获悉，富时罗素发文称，10月14日，中国政府债券在世界国债指数中的权重首次超过了日本政府债券，使中国成为该指数的第二大市场。这反映了两个市场趋势：一是中国政府债券发行量大幅增长；二是相对货币的走势，尤其是日元贬值。
另外，富时罗素表示，日本和中国在富时世界国债指数中的市场权重可能增加。有报道指，中国将继续增加政府债券的发行量以刺激经济，而日本央行也宣布将减少购买政府债券，预计到2026年3月，其持有量将减少7%至8%，这意味着在市场上流通的日本政府债券数量将会增加。
据悉，2021年3月，富时罗素宣布自2021年11月起，于36个月内分阶段将中国政府债券(CGB)纳入其旗舰指数“世界国债指数”(WGBI)。逐步纳入的过程已于2024年10月完成，所有符合纳入标准的中国政府债券此后将纳入该指数。中国债券纳入富时世界国债指数标志着一个重大转变，为全球投资者提供了更多样化的选择。
