分析师认为，这一增长并非由政府刺激或疫情积压订单的短期影响所驱动，而是结构性增长。丹麦公司Kamstrup作为新势力，正在抢占市场份额，尤其是在大型项目上。智能水表市场的未来增长前景看好，目前约1/3的安装基数具备自动抄表（AMI）能力，预计达到50%或更高可能仅需几年时间。Badger Meter(BMI)因拥有大部分分销网络而具有市场控制和洞察优势。智能水表升级项目的典型周期包括业务案例制定、迁移到AMI和采购、市场招标、合同授予以及实际实施。
德意志银行认为，尽管智能水表项目被视为“锦上添花”，但由于回报期短，预计仍将持续稳定升级。
