Silex Systems' Licensee Secures US Defense Funding for Uranium Program; Silex Shares Climb 4%

Silex Systems' (ASX:SLX) licensee, Global Laser Enrichment, was selected as an awardee by the US Department of Defense for the low-enriched uranium funding program, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Global Enrichment Uranium is the exclusive license holder for Silex's third-generation laser-based Silex uranium enrichment technology, per the filing.

The award provides a minimum contract value of $2 million and a maximum total value for all awardees of $3.4 billion, depending on agreed task orders, the filing said.

Silex Systems' shares climbed nearly 4% in recent Wednesday trade.
