Otter Tail (OTTR) said late Monday its Otter Tail Power subsidiary plans to add two solar facilities to its energy generation portfolio to meet future customer needs.
The company said it requested the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission to approve cost recovery for the Solway Solar and Abercrombie Solar projects.
Solway Solar, a 50-megawatt facility, will be built in Lammers Township near Solway, Minnesota, expected to be fully operational in 2026, contingent on project approvals, the company said.
The company said it is developing the Abercrombie Solar project, a 295-MW facility in Abercrombie Township near Wahpeton, North Dakota, through Otter Tail Power's agreement with Flickertail Solar Project. The project is due to be completed in 2028.
