Blink Charging Co.‘s (NASDAQ:BLNK) subsidiary Blink Charging UK secured a three-year contract to install, maintain, and manage 41 electric vehicle (EV) chargers and 21 contactless payment terminals at Kings College NHS Trust’s flagship Princess Royal University Hospital.
Starting in May 2025, patients, visitors, and staff will have access to fast and convenient EV charging, along with seamless payments through the contactless terminals.
In the first phase of the project, Blink UK will install 41 new vehicle-to-grid EV chargers at the hospital, with 35 on the ground floor and six on the first floor.
The chargers are part of a new generation designed to enhance EV charging infrastructure efficiency.
Additionally, 21 contactless payment terminals will be set up throughout the car park and surrounding areas for convenient, hassle-free payments.
Over the three-year project, additional EV chargers will be installed at other sites across the King’s College NHS Trust estate.
This installation is part of King’s Green Plan, which aims to reduce the Trust’s environmental impact through initiatives such as climate-conscious building adaptations and sustainable travel options for patients, visitors, and staff.
The plan aligns with the broader Greener NHS vision to deliver a Net Zero health service.
Yesterday, the company stated that it is making significant strides in supporting the transition to greener transportation with its ongoing collaboration with Norfolk County Council.
By February 2025, Blink Charging will add 22 new charging stations at 12 locations, bringing the total number of charging stations to 46 in Norwich.
Price Action: BLNK shares are up 0.60% at $1.69 premarket at the last check Thursday.
