高通技术公司首席技术官明年换帅，将聚焦6G和AI
IT之家 12 月 13 日消息，高通公司昨日（12 月 12 日）发布公告，任命 Baaziz Achour 博士接替 James Thompson 博士，将于 2025 年 2 月 3 日担任子公司高通技术（Qualcomm Technologies）公司首席技术官。
Achour 博士目前担任高通技术公司副首席技术官，将领导高通的研发和工程部门，负责技术战略和执行，继续扩展高通在无线通信、计算和人工智能领域的领导地位。
James Thompson 博士，在高通服务 33 年，为公司技术发展做出巨大贡献，将于 2025 年 2 月 3 日退休。
IT之家注：Achour 博士于 1993 年加入高通公司，担任系统工程师，于 2023 年担任副首席技术官，在高通任职期间，Achour 博士在工程部门担任过多个领导职务，并且对几乎每一代无线技术的发展都做出了重要贡献。
他是推动 5G 加速发布的领导团队的关键成员，并将领导蜂窝技术向 6G 的演进。Achour 博士拥有阿尔及尔大学物理学学士学位，以及塔夫茨大学电气工程硕士和博士学位，拥有 24 项已获授权的美国无线通信专利。
