智通财经获悉，壳牌公司(SHEL.US)在尼日利亚的子公司将在本十年末开始在Bonga North海上浮式设施生产石油和天然气。壳牌在周一的一份声明中表示，该地区的石油日产量最高可达11万桶左右，可采油当桶量为3亿桶。Bonga North项目耗资50亿美元，包括钻探、完井和启动16口井。
尼日利亚总统在一份声明中说：“我们从执政伊始就设计了我们的政策和改革，以实现这一目标。壳牌及其合作伙伴在Bonga North的投资决定肯定了我们努力的成功。”
该合资企业是几个海上项目之一，英国石油公司(BP.US)的墨西哥湾产量将在本十年末增加，而壳牌和道达尔(TTE.US)在Namibia的发现也令人兴奋。虽然预测者已经下调了今年的石油消费增长预期，主要是为了反映经济的疲软，但咨询公司Rapidan Energy Group在最近的一份报告中表示，全球需求可能会持续增长，直到2050年。
