1003 ET - Cereal giant General Mills says it's confident it can navigate any coming changes to food regulations, in part thanks to an agile R&D department. The US food industry is bracing for potential changes that could stem from HHS nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a longtime critic of processed foods. For example, General Mills CEO Jeff Harmening says that rules governing food served in schools change regularly and that the company has been able to grow its share of the K-12 market by reformulating its products better than competitors. "We've been navigating regulatory environments for nearly 160 years," Harmening says. "I'm wildly confident in our ability to pivot because we have been able to do that historically."
