消息面上，据媒体报道，如果美国当选总统特朗普兑现征收广泛关税的承诺，加拿大考虑对其出口到美国的主要商品(包括铀、石油和钾肥)征收出口税。据悉，加拿大铀是美国核电站最大的外国燃料来源。
中泰国际指出，多家美国科技公司(例如微软、亚马逊)宣布参与核能项目，以应付数据中心等大量电力需求。核能发展长远有望支持核能资源/设备行业，当中有利推动长远铀价。中国铀矿商可从中间接受惠。可是核能发展相对上需时，火电及燃气发电却可满足短中期需求。此外预计特朗普上任美国总统后将推动美国本土油气等传统能源生产，变相降低核能行业的短期吸引力。
