South Korean electronic component manufacturer LG Innotek (KRX:011070) developed a 5-megapixel RGB-IR in-cabin camera module, capable of real-time monitoring of vehicle occupants, Pulse News reported Wednesday.
The device detects driver attention, drowsiness, and seatbelt use for both front and rear passengers, from its installation in areas such as rearview mirrors or above seats. Unlike traditional modules, this device combines multiple functions, improving safety with a single camera, the report said.
Shares of LG Innotek fell nearly 2% in recent trade on Thursday.
