Posco Future M (KRX:003670) developed domestic manufacturing technology for 300-millimeter diameter ultra high Power (UHP) electrode rods, a key component in steel production, the South Korean chemical company said last week.
These high-value carbon materials enhance steelmaking efficiency by converting electrical energy into thermal energy for melting and refining processes, the release said.
Shares of Posco Future M fell 2% at market close on Thursday.
