1103 ET - General Mills is having problems with dough. The Pillsbury-owner said it's had a disappointing start to the baking season, as U.S. shoppers hunt for value in grocery stores for longer than expected. General Mills said it is boosting promotions for refrigerated dough, as well as for products like fruit snacks and Totino's pizza. On dough, the company also plans to further highlight changes it's made to some products, such as adding more cinnamon to Pillsbury cinnamon rolls and more "flaky layers" to its biscuits. General Mills CEO Jeff Harmening said the steps the company is taking are working but that it needs to go further. "Honestly, it's just going to take a little bit more than we had anticipated," Harmening said. Shares slip 2.8%. (jesse.newman@wsj.com)
