Victorian Attorney-General Jaclyn Symes has been tapped to replace Tim Pallas as treasurer and pick up the monumental task of turning the state’s finances around.
Ms Symes, who has been considered one of the Allan government’s strongest performers, will be formally announced as Victoria’s first female treasurer on Thursday, despite sitting in the upper house and coming from the non-dominant right faction.
