大众汽车管理层和劳工代表将于当地时间周二上午恢复谈判，讨论工厂成本削减计划。此前在周一双方进行了13个小时的谈判，但未能达成协议。

　　工会周一晚间表示，周二的谈判是否会使双方更加接近达成协议或是陷入僵局，目前“还完全不清楚”，工会坚称任何解决方案都必须排除关闭工厂的可能性，而大众汽车方面则坚持不排除这种可能性。

　　双方都预计会谈将持续几天，这是在圣诞节前达成协议并避免冲突的最后机会。工会威胁称，如果本周不能达成协议，将在新的一年采取前所未有的罢工行动。

　　周一早些时候，工会主席告诉工会成员：“工人们不想在恐惧中过圣诞节。”
