消息面上，美中嘉和此前公告称，中国国家药品监督管理局已于2024年12月6日批准公司设备供应商的质子治疗设备医疗器械注册证的注册申请。美中嘉和公众号12月12日表示，公司旗下广州泰和肿瘤医院质子治疗中心将于2024年12月16日投入运营，正式开机治疗肿瘤患者。
根据弗若斯特沙利文的数据，中国质子治疗市场规模预计将从2022年的3.1亿元人民币增长至2026年的53.0亿元人民币，并有望在2030年达到174.9亿元人民币。据悉，广州泰和肿瘤医院作为华南地区首家配备质子放疗系统的医疗机构，其服务范围不仅覆盖粤港澳大湾区及华南省份，更有望扩展至全国乃至东亚及东南亚国家。
