0945 GMT - Shares of European companies in the semiconductor supply chain trade higher as overnight gains in U.S. chip stocks extend to the continent. In a shortened session ahead of the Christmas trading holiday, with several European markets closed, French semiconductor-material supplier Soitec and European chipmaker STMicroelectronics both climb 1.8%. Dutch semiconductor-equipment makers ASML, ASM International and BE Semiconductor Industries are up 0.6%, 0.8% and 0.7%, respectively. The Stoxx Europe 600 Technology index adds 0.4%. The gains in Europe come after AI chipmakers Broadcom, Advanced Micro Devices and Nvidia on Monday lifted major U.S. stock indexes. (adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
