FX168财经报社(北美)讯 美国股市将于1月9日休市，以纪念吉米·卡特（Jimmy Carter）。这位美国第39任总统于周日（12月29日）去世，享年100岁。
乔·拜登总统（Joe Biden）宣布1月9日为全国哀悼日。这一天也将是卡特的国葬日，仪式将在华盛顿特区的华盛顿国家大教堂（Washington National Cathedral）举行。
纽约证券交易所（NYSE）和纳斯达克交易所（Nasdaq）将在1月9日全天休市。
纽约证券交易所集团总裁林恩·马丁（Lynn Martin）在声明中表示：“纽约证券交易所将通过在全国哀悼日关闭市场的方式，尊重卡特总统为国家奉献的一生。”
纳斯达克总裁塔尔·科恩（Tal Cohen）也在声明中表示：“我们哀悼卡特总统的逝世，并将在全国哀悼日关闭美国市场，以缅怀他的生平和纪念他的遗产。”
卡特于1977年至1981年担任总统，在1980年的连任竞选中败给罗纳德·里根（Ronald Reagan）。他是一位海军退伍军人，曾担任乔治亚州第76任州长，并以通过卡特中心（The Carter Center）为人道主义事业服务40多年而闻名。
股市因特殊原因关闭的情况极为罕见。上一次股市因纪念总统而关闭是在2018年12月5日，当时是为悼念乔治·H·W·布什（George H.W. Bush）。其他导致市场关闭的事件还包括2012年的飓风桑迪（Hurricane Sandy）和2001年的“9·11”恐怖袭击（September 11 terror attacks）。
