The China-Maldives Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will take effect on Jan. 1, Xinhua reported Monday, citing China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) statement.
The FTA was announced by Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and the Maldives' Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohamed Saeed. Most Chinese exports will benefit from the move. Similarly, most of the Maldives' aquatic exports to China will also enjoy zero tariffs, the publication said.
