China's Property Market Likely Boosted by Year-End Campaigns -- Market Talk

0305 GMT - China's property market ended 2024 on a positive note, with improvement likely underpinned by end-of-year sales campaigns, Daiwa analyst William Wu says in a note. Developers typically launch new projects and offer discounts to boost sales at the end of the year, Wu says. Homebuyer sentiment has also picked up, aided by expectations that the government will do "whatever it takes" to stabilize home prices, Wu says. Daiwa is cautious on the short term outlook for the sector but still sees room for tactical trading opportunities, Wu adds. Daiwa pegs China Resources Land as its top long-term pick, but remains neutral on the sector overall. (tracy.qu@wsj.com)
