The president of Tutor Perini has become its chief executive as longtime leader Ron Tutor transitions to the role of executive chairman.
The construction company said Thursday that Gary Smalley is now leading the C-suite and has taken a seat on the board of directors.
Smalley had served as company president since November 2023, when Tutor Perini announced its plan for Smalley to succeed the outgoing Tutor at the start of 2025. He had been the company's chief financial officer since September 2015 and previously worked in financial management roles at Fluor.
Tutor has held the role of CEO and chairman of the board since 2008, when the company was formed by a merger of his firm Tutor-Saliba with building contractor Perini.
