智通财经APP获悉，默沙东(MRK.US)宣布，佳达修®[四价人乳头瘤病毒疫苗（酿酒酵母）]的多项新适应证已获得中国国家药品监督管理局的上市批准，适用于9~26岁男性接种。新适应证的获批，标志着默沙东佳达修®成为中国境内首个且目前唯一获批、可适用于男性的HPV疫苗。
在女性接种热潮逐渐消退之后，为这家美国制药巨头开辟了一个尚未开发的新市场。
佳达修®此次获批的新适应证可适用于9-26岁男性预防因HPV16、18引起的肛门癌，HPV6和11引起的生殖器疣（尖锐湿疣），以及由HPV6、11、16、18引起的以下癌前病变或不典型病变：1级、2级、3级肛门上皮内瘤样病变（AIN）。
由此带来的收入增长足以使默沙东在 2023 年超越阿斯利康公司，成为中国（全球第二大医药市场）最畅销的制药公司。
HPV 疫苗在其他发达国家已经很普遍，该疫苗获准供男性使用，这为默沙东在印度获得了急需的新收入来源，因为在 2023 年印度女性对 HPV 疫苗的需求激增之后，佳达修®的销量迅速下降，导致销量枯竭。
佳达修®第三季度全球销售额下降11%，促使默沙东下调了该公司全年销售预期。首席执行官罗布·戴维斯警告称，这种疲软态势可能将持续到2025年。
尽管如此，此次批准让默沙东在开拓中国男性市场方面占据了先机，而国内竞争对手仍在临床试验中测试类似的疫苗。默沙东此前估计，如果该疫苗获准供男性和女性使用，其中国销售额最终可能达到30 亿美元。
