智通财经APP获悉，西南航空(LUV.US)将通过出售和回租35架波音(BA.US)737-800飞机获得9200万美元收益，这是该航空公司将其庞大机队和大量飞机订单部分变现的更广泛计划的第一步。
西南航空在周二的一份声明中表示，该航空公司从去年12月与Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management完成的交易中获得了8.71亿美元的总收益。9200万美元的收益将记录在2024年第四季度。该航空公司表示，另一架飞机的售后回租预计将于1月完成。
目前，西南航空正努力从其逾800架波音737飞机和近700架已订购飞机中获取额外价值，这是这家航空公司为提高近年来落后于同行的投资者回报而进行的全面改革的一部分。其他举措包括放弃传统模式，提供指定座位和更大腿部空间的高级票价。
机队交易旨在利用飞机需求和价格飙升，因为目前波音和空客(EADSY.US)面临生产挑战，限制了新客机的供应。售后回租协议允许该航空公司将其部分737-800中型飞机出售给出租人，然后在固定时间内将其租回，这些飞机的租赁期限为26至37个月。该交易将为该航空公司每年增加260万美元的租金支付。
该航空公司表示，它还可能直接出售其机队以及从波音收到的新737 Max飞机中的一些飞机。该公司目前并不需要这些飞机，如果不接受订购的飞机，它将失去过去延迟交付的现有信用积分。西南航空的波音订单将持续到2031年。
