Independent U.S. refiner PBF Energy has scheduled a turnaround of 55-65 days at its 157,000 b/d Martinez refinery in northern California during the first half of 2025, the company said in its 2025 guidance investor presentation released late Friday.
PBF said its Martinez refinery's turnaround would involve a fluid catalytic cracker, alkylation unit and FCC hydrotreater, according to its presentation.
The company's 166,200 b/d Torrance refinery near Los Angeles will undergo planned maintenance at a hydrocracker during the second half of the year also lasting between 55-65 days.
Also for H1 2025, PBF will have a hydrocracker turnaround of 35-45 days at its 180,000 b/d Delaware City refinery, as well as planned maintenance of 30-40 days at the 197,000 b/d Chalmette refinery near New Orleans related to a FCC hydrotreater and catalyst change.
A PBF spokesman did not immediately respond to an email query on whether any of the three refineries scheduled for H1 turnarounds are currently under planned works.
In addition, PBF expects 2025 total throughput of 920,000-980,000 b/d, which comprises East Coast throughput of 310,000-330,000 b/d, 140,000-150,000 b/d in the Midcontinent, 170,000-180,000 b/d in the Gulf Coast and 300,000-320,000 b/d in the West Coast.
PBF also forecast 2025 capital expenditures of $900 million to $935 million, including $35 million to $40 million for maintenance, turnarounds and strategic spending at its St. Bernard Renewables at the Chalmette refinery - a 50-50 joint venture with Italian oil major Eni.
The New Jersey-based company operates six oil refineries, terminals and pipelines.
