日本股市新年首个交易日下跌。美国总统拜登否决日本制铁并购美钢(X.US) ，市场担心特朗普上任美国总统后的“美国优先”政策，对日本外需企业造成冲击。日经平均指数午后曾跌660点，全日跌587点或1.5%，收39,307点。
半导体股方面，东京威力科创、Advantest及迪斯科升0.7%至1.1%，雷泰光电跌1.2%。重工股持续成交活跃，三菱重工升0.9%。IHI跌5.5%。汽车股方面，本田升2.8%，丰田及日产跌4.3%及1%。
本周公布季绩的迅销及Seven and i跌4.2%及1.9%。日本制铁并购美钢(X.US) 遭美国总统否决，日本制铁曾跌逾2%，全日跌0.8%。啤酒股随外围下跌，札幌集团及朝日集团跌5.1%及2.9%。其他热门成交股方面，三菱日联金融、藤仓及日本软银升0.5%至0.9%。
