Advanced Micro Devices to Launch Desktop, Laptop, Handheld Processors, Graphics Cards, AI Updates for 2025

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) said Monday it will launch several new processors and graphics cards in 2025, focusing on desktops, handheld gaming, and AI-enhanced Windows 11 systems.

The new Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D desktop processors, planned for Q1 launch, target gamers and content creators, featuring up to 16 Zen 5 cores, the company said.

AMD's new Fire Range lineup for midrange laptops and ultraportables, offering 12-16 cores at up to 5.4GHz, will launch in H1, it added.

Ryzen AI 300 series and a higher performance Ryzen AI Max series come with dedicated neural processing units and offer longer battery life along with Copilot+ AI Windows 11 features, with expected release in Q1 and Q2, according to AMD.

The company's Ryzen Z2 Series for handhelds is scheduled for Q1, bringing four to eight cores for lightweight and gaming-focused devices, AMD said.

Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards, based on AMD's RDNA 4 architecture, support improved ray tracing, media encoding, and AI features, the company detailed.

AMD's Adrenalin software has also received new AI-powered functions, which enable image generation, large language model-based text summaries, and an integrated chatbot, the company added.

The company's shares were up about 3.8% in recent trading.
