Toyoda Gosei (TYO:7282) has secured a 10-year agreement with Eurus Energy America to purchase renewable energy certificates from a Texas wind farm, according to a Wednesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The move will cut CO2 emissions by about 40,000 tons annually, reducing company emissions by over 20% in the Americas.
The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality in its production activities by 2030, advancing its original target by 20 years. The shift includes increased use of renewable energy, solar power, and green energy certificates.
Shares of the company were down 1% in morning trade Thursday.
