Cygnus Metals (ASX:CY5) expanded its land holding at its Chibougamau copper-gold project in Quebec, Canada to 282 square kilometers, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
The company said the new claims it acquired are newly staked and open ground immediately surrounding the existing project. In total, 174 claims have been staked for 97 square kilometers, per the filing.
It plans to start drilling with two diamond drill rigs. It is also expecting drilling results from a targeted exploration program.
Cygnus Metals recently completed a merger with Canadian firm Dore Copper Mining via a statutory plan of arrangement.
