First Graphene Files Patent for Modified Process in Hydrogen Production; Shares Surge 25%

First Graphene (ASX:FGR) filed intellectual property protection for the process of manufacturing enhanced graphene materials used as electrocatalysts to produce hydrogen, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

Once granted, the patent will recognize the materials firm as the inventor of the process to support the cost-effective hydrogen generation via water electrolysis, the filing said.

Company shares surged 25% in recent Thursday trade.
