Sunny Optical Technology's (HKG:2382) shipment volume of handset lens sets fell 1.9% year over year to 104.9 million units in December 2024, while those of vehicle lens sets grew 34.8% to 6.35 million units.
Meanwhile, sales of handset camera modules rose 13.4% to 53.4 million units from a year earlier, according to a Friday bourse filing.
The lens maker attributed the growth in handset camera module sales to a "low base" caused by weak demand from the smartphone market in the year-ago period.
For microscopic instruments, sales surged 84.8% to 36,062 units.
