China Energy Engineering (HKG:3996, SHA:601868) said its Hubei Yingcheng 300MW Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Station achieved full-capacity grid-connected power generation, according to a Friday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
The project was launched in July 2022. It is the world's first 300MW non-supplementary-combustion compressed air energy storage system, the company said.
Yingcheng's salt caverns can store 1,500MWh and generate 500 million kWh annually with nearly 70% efficiency. The green energy project, recognized as a key national and provincial initiative, includes over 200 patents and achieved 100% localization of core technologies.
