Juan Andrade is stepping down as Everest Group's chief executive effective immediately, the company said Wednesday.

Jim Williamson, executive vice president and group chief operating officer of the insurance company, has taken over as acting CEO and joined the board of directors.

Andrade has led the company since 2020 and is leaving to pursue a new position as CEO of a prominent financial services firm, the Everest Group said.

Williamson joined Everest in 2020 and was tapped him to lead its reinsurance division in 2021. He was put in charge of both its reinsurance and insurance businesses last year.
