Retractable Technologies (RVP) said Tuesday it was no longer pursuing a case in the US Court of International Trade against defendants involved in the issuance of a 100% tariff on syringes and needles imported from China.
The complaint was dismissed Wednesday last week, the company said.
Although the tariffs were allegedly not properly implemented, the company said it was withdrawing the complaint because it did not see itself prevailing "against the interests of a large monopolistic corporation."
The company further said that it also saw a lower risk of tariffs hurting its business after its engineers were able to enhance the transition process, significantly reducing the need to import syringes.
