** UnitedHealth UNH.N and Elevance ELV.N gained the most members under government-supported Medicare Advantage plans for older adults and people with disabilities, U.S. government's January enrollment data shows
** On the other hand, Humana HUM.N and CVS Health CVS.N saw the largest declines
** UNH appears to be tracking in line with its target while Elevance was "the biggest surprise" with a 10.2% growth, which seems ahead of company's outlook - brokerage Oppenheimer
** Though HUM and CVS lost most members among public peers, their trends appear to be in line with their guidance - Oppenheimer
** Brokerage says will await the February data for a better read on overall industry growth
** Centene CNC.N also lost members, while Cigna CI.N, which is divesting its Medicare Advantage business, gained members
** Another brokerage Evercore ISI says these membership losses for CVS, CNC and HUM should provide a helpful step in improved year-over-year profitability
