1215 ET - Restaurant owners are cautiously optimistic heading into 2025, UBS analysts say in a research note. Most of the companies presenting at this year's ICR Conference expect consumer sentiment and the industry's outlook to continue improving throughout the year, though select brands, such as Jack in the Box, Papa John's and Dave & Buster's, could continue to face traffic pressures, analysts say. Restaurant companies say they will focus on offering more value to support traffic. They additionally say they expect a more supportive macroeconomic environment, largely benign food-cost inflation and generally stable labor inflation. Analysts note, though, that there is still uncertainty regarding effects from the new administration across tariffs and immigration. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
