Quebecor May Be Able To Adjust Prices Soon, Boosting Investor Sentiment -- Market Talk

0917 ET - Canadian telecom companies may see some reprieve on pricing as flanker brands, the discount banners of the major telecom companies, are beginning to remove their lower price tiers. In a TD Cowen report, Vince Valentini notes that Rogers, BCE, and Telus have become more disciplined with their flanker brand pricing, and believes that Quebecor, through Freedom Mobile, will make pricing adjustments soon as well. This should help improve pricing and average revenue per unit trends, something that could "materially improve investor sentiment." However, Quebecor is still in competitive mode, and the analyst sees Freedom continuing to win market share at a healthy and gradual pace with pricing a bit higher than $35 "given improving brand image and network quality at Freedom."
