Yum! Brands appointed Scott Mezvinsky as the new chief executive of Kentucky Fried Chicken, following the exit of current CEO Sabir Sami.
Sami, who has been CEO of KFC since 2022, will exit his role at the end of February. Mezvinsky, who has most recently served as president of Taco Bell North America and International, will start his new role effective March 1.
Mezvinsky has been with Yum! Brands, a Louisville, Ky.-based company that owns fast-food chains such as Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, for more than 20 years. In his new role, he will lead KFC's global strategy and growth initiatives, building on his extensive experience in operations, strategy, and financial leadership.
"I am very excited to play a role in continuing to strengthen and accelerate the growth of this legendary brand in virtually every corner of the world," said Mezvinsky.
