智通财经APP获悉，礼来(LLY.US)首席执行官David Ricks周一表示，该公司预计其试验性口服减肥药最早将于明年初获得批准。
该公司将在今年年中公布口服药orforglipron的关键后期试验数据。
目前，礼来正在努力将这种药丸推向市场，与诺和诺德(NVO.US)以及其他规模较小的竞争对手争夺蓬勃发展的减肥药市场的主要份额。礼来的Zepbond和诺和诺德的Wegovy在这一领域占据主导地位，但制药商及其竞争对手一直在努力开发这些药物的改进版本。
与目前的注射形式相比，口服药对患者来说更为方便服用。在礼来和诺和诺德难以生产足够的药物来满足激增的需求之际，口服药也更加容易生产。
礼来表示，在中期试验中，orforglipron帮助患者减轻了14.7%的体重，而服用安慰剂的患者减轻了2.3%。
