西南航空被美国运输部起诉，因其涉嫌违反要求航空公司制定并满足实际的航班时刻表的规定。

　　该机构周三在一份声明中表示，该航空公司应为扰乱乘客出行计划的“长期、非法的航班延误”负责。美国运输部在加州奥克兰联邦法院提起的诉讼中表示，将寻求对西南航空处以“最高民事处罚”。

　　西南航空在另一份声明中表示，“对运输部选择就发生在逾两年前的两次航班提起诉讼感到失望。”该航空公司表示，自运输部于2009年发布针对长期延误的政策以来，西南航空已经运营了超过2000万个航班，没有此类违规行为。
