China Southern Airlines' (HKG:1055, SHA:600029) passenger capacity rose 3.3% year over year to 29.1 billion available seat kilometers in December 2024, according to a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange.
International passenger capacity grew 20% to 7.87 billion available seat-kilometers, while domestic passenger capacity slipped 1.8% to 20.9 billion available seat-kilometers, the filing said.
Passenger count jumped 6.5% to 12.9 million during the month, with domestic passenger load rising 3.2% to 11.1 million and international passenger load surging 38% to more than 1.6 million.
Cargo capacity declined 1.3% year on year to 4.07 billion available tonne-kilometers. International cargo capacity grew 5.4% to 1.74 billion available tonne-kilometers, while domestic cargo capacity declined 5.7% to 2.30 billion available tonne-kilometers, the filing said.
Cargo and mail carried slipped 0.9% to 158,320 tonnes. Domestic cargo carried inched up 1.5% to 82,610 tonnes while international cargo fell 3% to 73,370 tonnes.
